Part-Time Administrative Clerk

POSITION SUMMARY
Performs a variety of program support tasks and accurately prepares and maintains billing records. Submits data summary for monthly invoicing, keeping department records updated, and maintaining quarterly client reports. Further, the nature of this position is to support our valued clients and partners in the path towards a decarbonized electric sector and overall decarbonized economy in an equitable and fiduciarily responsible manner honoring customer cost impact, decarbonization, and customer choice, among other important objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with month-end close for the conservation programs (data validation, report generation, delivery to accounting for invoice generation)
  • Prints and mails rebate checks
  • Maintains conservation group billing data, adds to central data repositories for report generation purposes
  • Understands basic bookkeeping
  • Types accurately, prepares, and maintains conservation group documents and records
  • Ensures confidentiality within all areas of responsibility
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • One (1) plus years of experience 
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills required
  • Outstanding communication and administrative abilities
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills
  • Must be accurate, detail oriented, able to multi-task, and to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to meet all assigned deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel & Word). Advanced Excel knowledge a plus (v-lookups, pivot tables)
  • Intermediate knowledge of QuickBooks (Online preferred) 
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times
  • Consent to a CORI background check

Energy New England (ENE) was founded in 1998 to enhance the competitive position of public power entities in response to deregulation and to attain operating efficiencies in energy risk management and retail account management.  We are a municipal light plant cooperative established under Chapter 164, Section 47C of the Massachusetts General Laws.  Our ownership is made up of light departments in Braintree, Taunton, Concord, Hingham, and Wellesley, Massachusetts.

ENE is the largest wholesale risk management and energy trading organization serving the needs of municipal utilities in the northeast.  We currently manage the power supplies of over twenty municipal electric systems serving more than 1100 MW of electric load and more than 550 MW of generation in all six New England states.  We advise on and/or conduct more than one billion kilowatt hours in wholesale power transactions and 100-150 million kilowatt hours in retail transactions annually.  We also manage up to 250,000 therms of natural gas per day within our customers’ portfolios, as well as up to 5,000 barrels per day of fuel oil.
