POSITION SUMMARY
Great opportunity! Energy New England is seeking an energetic, highly motivated, Associate Energy Analyst to join our team. Responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities of wholesale power supply Operations team. Manages load and generation throughout New England both the bilateral and New England spot markets.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Analyze customer historical demand and develop load forecasts
- Develop reporting templates for both demand and supply
- Provide portfolio modeling and reporting support
- Analyze ISO New England forecast, operational and settlement market data and reports
- Understand ISO market rules and evaluate impacts to customers interests as load servers and generators
- Participate in regular market assessments and environmental trends that could affect our customer base and our growth strategies
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Mathematics or appropriate discipline
- Expert capabilities with spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications
- Econometric or financial modeling a plus
- Database programming ability and/or application development a plus
- Familiarity with ISO New England or other ISO/RTO market rules a plus
- Strong analytical and communications skills
- Willingness to develop an in-depth understanding of energy markets
