Members from Gov. Healey’s Massachusetts Commission on Energy Infrastructure Siting and Permitting Meet for Roundtable Discussion at Environmental Business Council of New England

Boston, Massachusetts, June 20,2024 – Energy New England, LLC (ENE) President & CEO, John G. Tzimorangas was joined by Undersecretary of Energy Michael Judge and House Telecommunications Utilities and Energy Chairman, Jeff Roy and other outstanding utility industry, legal and environmental members from Gov. Healey’s Massachusetts Commission on Energy Infrastructure Siting and Permitting for an Environmental Business Council of New England report-out and review of the Commission’s recommendations. The event took place at the offices of Foley Hoag LLP on Boston’s Seaport.

The Commission was made up of a diverse membership of professionals and advocates invested in the Commonwealth’s clean energy transition goals, was tasked with providing recommendations that will help reduce permitting timelines, ensure communities have input in the siting and permitting of clean energy infrastructure, and ensure that the benefits of a clean energy transition are shared equitably. The recommendations which will now be contemplated at the legislature will provide an important resource to policy makers and state leadership in their work to implement the Commonwealth’s net zero goals.
