Mansfield, Massachusetts, November 15, 2021 - Noel Chambers is the Director of Energy Efficiency and Electrification for Energy New England. In this role, he is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of energy efficiency, electrification, electric vehicle, and distributed energy resource programs for more than two dozen municipal light plants across the Northeast. Prior to his role at Energy New England, he was a supervisor of energy efficiency at Eversource Energy where he was responsible for strategic initiatives and workforce development activities which were leveraged to help meet the ever-increasing statewide energy efficiency goals. Before that he was a senior engineer at RISE Engineering where he performed commercial and industrial energy audits supporting National Grid’s natural gas efficiency program. As part of this role, he also worked closely with the Rhode Island Housing Authority to audit, propose, and implement efficiency upgrades for public housing authorities throughout Rhode Island under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
Noel is serving a 2-year term as Chair of the Northwest Energy Efficiency Council’s (NEEC) Certification Advisory Commission helping to identify and address opportunities to achieve NEEC’s goals of certifying more individuals as Certified Building Operators. He is an active member of the Northeast Chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). He has been certified by the Department of Energy as a Qualified Steam System Specialist, and by the Association of Energy Engineers as: Certified Energy Manager; Certified Demand Side Manager; and Certified Measurement and Verification Professional.
Noel earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island. He is also a Fellow of the Center of Collaborative Leadership at UMass Boston.
