POSITION SUMMARY
Energy New England is seeking a highly motivated, Outreach & Marketing Specialist to join our team.
Responsible for designing and implementing electric vehicle (EV) awareness programs and supporting
customer engagement for Home Energy Assessment programs in designated communities. Leads
outreach activities, coordinates EV events, promotes a concierge EV support service, and executes
community-based marketing efforts to encourage the adoption of electric and alternative fuel
vehicles. Drive social media communications, develop customer-facing communications, and create
targeted marketing campaigns for EV & Home Energy Assessment programs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Education, Outreach & Marketing:
- Complete various grass-roots marketing, education, and outreach tasks as required
- Author and/or upload monthly blogs for program websites and upon client request
- Create education/marketing tools, handouts, and materials, adapted to local markets,
including:-
- Monthly and quarterly e-newsletters
- Activity booklets and other educational materials

- Develop additional outreach opportunities with local schools and other educational
institutions - Draft and update content for marketing materials and social media
- Share education and marketing posts to local community groups on social media platforms
- Develop and update design, branding, and messaging for websites and marketing collateral
- Prioritize inclusivity and diversity, ensuring representation of diverse perspectives and
fostering a sense of belonging among target audiences through inclusive messaging, content,
and outreach strategies - Focus on sustainability and ethical practices to enhance credibility and appeal in marketing
initiatives
Event Planning & Execution:
- Represent ENE and their clients at community events to create engagement opportunities
- Coordinate, facilitate, and present at in-person and online Events/Q&A sessions
- Reinforce key outreach messaging and encourage event attendees to take action
- After events, proactively engage with participants to cultivate extended outreach
opportunities - Track event outreach metrics for internal/external reporting purposes (i.e., event attendance,
volume of collateral distributed, number of quality conversations had) - Cultivate relationships with stakeholders, organizations, and key participants to amplify
outreach efforts and achieve shared goals
EV Specialist Support:
- Respond to customer support requests submitted via the EV support service within 2 business days
- Provide additional operations support as needed
- Prepare and submit monthly EV awareness program reports
- Maintain customer, dealership, and partnership records using the CRM system
- Research, data analysis, and reporting on various aspects of the EV program
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies, Communications, Marketing, Engineering, or a
similar technology-related discipline - 1 year experience preferred, but recent college graduates are also considered
- Electric Vehicle Owner or enthusiast (preferred)
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, displaying patience, humor, and helpfulness
- Ability to handle multiple projects, changing priorities, complex assignments, and deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in Microsoft Office; must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe
Acrobat, and MS Teams - Ability to work on nights and weekends as needed
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License issued within the United States & current personal
automobile insurance - Consent to a CORI background check

Energy New England (ENE) was founded in 1998 to enhance the competitive position of public power entities in response to deregulation and to attain operating efficiencies in energy risk management and retail account management. We are a municipal light plant cooperative established under Chapter 164, Section 47C of the Massachusetts General Laws. Our ownership is made up of light departments in Braintree, Taunton, Concord, Hingham, and Wellesley, Massachusetts.
ENE is the largest wholesale risk management and energy trading organization serving the needs of municipal utilities in the northeast. We currently manage the power supplies of over twenty municipal electric systems serving more than 1100 MW of electric load and more than 550 MW of generation in all six New England states. We advise on and/or conduct more than one billion kilowatt hours in wholesale power transactions and 100-150 million kilowatt hours in retail transactions annually. We also manage up to 250,000 therms of natural gas per day within our customers’ portfolios, as well as up to 5,000 barrels per day of fuel oil.
