Did you know that there are now many models of affordable used electric cars available locally?
This is in part because over 80% of electric cars were initially leased, and after 3 years are back on the used car market. Another reason that their prices are so reasonable, is that all the incentives the first buyer received (such as an up to $7,500 federal tax credit) are already factored into the car’s depreciation.
As a result, there are a number of brands and models of low mileage BEVs and PHEVs that you can get for under $15,000…and some for under $10,000. And because of a plug-in electric car’s low cost to “fuel” (often only around $1 a “gallon” equivalent) and low cots of maintenance, these are used car that will start saving you even more money the longer you drive.
