Spruce Mountain Wind in Woodstock, ME is owned by Spruce Mountain Wind, LLC and operated by Patriot Renewables, LLC. The project has 10 2-megawatt Gamesa G90 turbines, for a total nameplate capacity of 20 megawatts. Each turbine produces enough energy to power about 1,000 homes every year. The turbines start generating energy when the wind reaches about 7 miles per hour, and they will continue to produce energy in winds up to 60 miles an hour.
